Cruise to Japan - Day 1 and 2

On October 1st we boarded the Legend of the Seas in downtown Shanghai. This was our view from our balcony.
Everyone was excited to depart.

The kids were even having fun. We didn't leave port until 5:30 and we were hoping to see all of the Bund lit up.

We saw some lights but not as many as we were hoping. We had a light rain when we left and the hazy Shanghai sky.

Lucas snapped a good picture of Devin and I. He was even able to catch Jason in the background - on his phone????

The next day was a Sea Day. We followed the Coast of Japan. We saw quite a few fishing boats and then we came across this big boat.

I captured a good picture of my "teenager".

We had gone up on deck and the wind was blowing. The seas were really rough (3-5 meters high). It was my first time to ever get sick on a cruise. It was awful!!!

Lucas had a good time climbing the rock wall. He went right up the "easy" section.

He decided to tackle the "hard". He was finally able to overcome that bump but the next one was a little bit out of his reach.

We played some BINGO. It wouldn't be a cruise for us if we didn't! However, Bingo isn't popular amongst the Chinese. They prefer the hard core poker. Since there weren't many people playing we thought our odds were good. Boy were we wrong. Only 1 game was played and the pot wasn't that big. So we decided to skip BINGO the rest of the cruise.

BINGO was a bust and we were ready to hit land.
